Today Show

The act of expelling air from your stomach through your mouth is known as “burping”, or “belching”, and we all do it. In fact, burping is so commonplace a bodily function that we are constantly doing it, no matter how old or young we may be. Babies in fact are deliberately burped so that the excess air they inhale while feeding doesn’t cause them any pain.
