Causes And Cures For Passing Gas

6. Digestive Tract Infection

Asdar Id

It is a classic saga of a battle between good and bad, keeping the balance, raging since the dawn of time… it is the battle in your gut between good bacteria and bad bacteria, they are trying to keep a good balance in your stomach.  Were you thinking of something else?

In normal state, the good bacteria will prevail in your stomach, and with the help of your immune system, will keep the bad bacteria levels in check.  However, when your immune system is down, it will not always be able to keep the bad bacteria in check, and their numbers will increase.  When there are more bad bacteria than the stomach can handle, or more than the good bacteria can overcome, you get a gastrointestinal infection.  Some of the common signs and symptoms of gastrointestinal infection are diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, abdominal pain, sometimes there will be a fever, and almost always really bad smelling farts.

During a gastrointestinal infection, the high amounts of bacteria will produce high amounts of gas, faster than you can expel.  This means the gas will accumulate until the pressure builds up for a big batch for expulsion.  This is when you fart.

Unless you address the infectious microbes present, meaning you treat the infection, this cycle of gas accumulation and farting will keep going on, along with the other signs and symptoms of the infection.
