8. Address Constipation

Johns Hopkins Medicine

Constipation will make you fart a lot.  The accumulation of stool in your gut means your gut is also accumulating a lot of bacteria and fermentation, recipes to amass gas.  If you can address the constipation, you can reduce your flatulence.

There are a number of reasons a person could be constipated.  As mentioned earlier in this article, the most common reasons for constipation are either not enough fiber in the diet, or not enough water in the digestive system.  Knowing that these are the most common reasons, they are also the easiest to address.

The first and easiest solution is to drink more water.  Keep hydrating over the course of a day, especially on a hot day or after a workout or intense physical activity.  The other solution is to eat more fiber-rich food.  These would usually be fruits and leafy vegetables.  If you still need more fiber other than from natural foods, there are over-the-counter fiber supplements available in the market.
