Causes And Cures For Passing Gas

8.  Celiac Disease

Healthline

Celiac Disease is often confused with gluten intolerance, which it is not.  Gluten intolerance means a person’s digestive system is unable to process or digest gluten.  Persons with Celiac Disease have a condition in which their immune system reacts to gluten by damaging the small intestines.  Sometimes this immune system reaction is to trigger inflammation in the small intestines.  The inflammation produces gas, often a feeling of being bloated, diarrhea, and fatigue.  The gas that is produced by the inflammation will accumulate until the inflammation subsides, either by medication or on its own as the gluten is flushed out of the system.

Note that Celiac Disease is a lifelong condition, not an illness, so it cannot be cured.  Instead, it can be managed and prevented from manifesting by avoiding gluten in one’s diet.
