5. Attempt An Elimination Diet

The reality is that there are a lot of causes of farting, and food choices are just some of them.  Some people are unwilling to go to the extreme of cutting out all foods that cause them to fart.  Just as well, as you will likely end up with very few practicable food options anyway, and probably not get the full nutrition you need if you did so.

An elimination diet is more an experiment than it is an actual diet.  The idea is to try to identify which foods cause you to be flatulent, by eliminating the possible culprits one by one. 

The first step is to identify which of your staple food choices are likely to be causes of your flatulence.  If you read back on this article, you will find a lot of those listed already.  Observe how you react to the elimination of those foods from your staple diet.  Once you have gotten your farting down to the level you are comfortable with (no pun intended), try adding back, one at a time, the foods you eliminated.  After each adding back of a food, observe if the new re-addition to your diet will cause your flatulence.  If it does, decide on whether to eliminate it altogether, just cut down, or keep eating it anyway.  Keep going until you have the diet you are comfortable with at the flatulence you are comfortable with.
