The simplest way to prepare a warm compress is to soak a washcloth in warm water, then wring it out. Make sure it isn’t so hot that it would cause a burn. Apply it on your affected ear, then leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. You may also use a heating pad, warmed gel pack, or warm water bottle.
