13. Apple Cider Vinegar

Healthline

Apple cider vinegar is known for various health benefits. It contains acetic acid, which is antibacterial, and it has also been shown to kill fungi. Apple cider vinegar should only be used for outer ear infections.

To use this as a remedy, mix equal parts of the vinegar with warm water. Apply 5 to 10 drops in the affected ear, then cover the opening with a cotton ball while leaning on your opposite side to allow the drops to sit in the ear. Hold for five minutes. You may also use rubbing alcohol instead of warm water, as the latter is also antibacterial as well as antimicrobial. However, avoid using alcohol if you suspect a middle ear infection, or if you have drainage from your ear. Stop using this mixture if you feel stinging in the ear when using it.

An apple cider vinegar gargle can also help with symptoms associated with an ear infection. Although it doesn’t provide direct relief, it can help an infection. Mix equal parts vinegar with warm water, then gargle the mixture for about 30 seconds. Do this two to three times a day.
