4. Face Masks

Eat This, Not That

Many face masks are readily available to address a number of skin concerns. Some are meant for skin that is prone to breakouts. While there are already plenty of masks in the market, you could also make your own DIY mask mixtures that could help mild breakouts.

One homemade mask recipe to try is a mix of 1/2 teaspoon turmeric and one tablespoon honey. Turmeric has natural anti-inflammatory properties, while honey is rich in antioxidants, and is also antibacterial and antimicrobial. Leave the mixture on for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing off. You could also mix turmeric (or green tea) with aloe vera instead. The latter is known for its soothing qualities.

If you are a fan of clay masks, you could mix one to two drops of tea tree oil, or a few drops of witch hazel with rose or white tea water, into your clay mask. Tea tree oil and witch hazel both have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
