Touching your face with your hands might be an unconscious gesture that may be aggravating your acne. Because you touch a lot of things throughout the day, you may be transferring bacteria to your skin that could cause breakouts. This is actually a common acne trigger. Touching can spread bacteria along the surface of the skin, as well as beneath the surface. When it gets beneath the surface of your skin, it could spread to other pores and cause another pimple to crop up. This is all the more reason to practice proper hand hygiene. Make sure you always wash your hands, and keep them off your face as much as possible. And if you already have a pimple on your skin, resist the urge to touch or squeeze it. This would only make the blemish worse.
