20 Ways to Get Rid of Zits and Prevent Breakouts

11. Olive Oil

US News

Olive oil is a common ingredient used in cooking, and you may even have some in your kitchen right now. It is also an ingredient often used in skin care products, thanks to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This oil can also be used on pimples. Just dab a tiny bit on your zits with a cotton ball or cotton swab. Leave on for around 15 minutes, then wash it off thoroughly.

You could also use olive oil as a cleanser to avoid overly stripping your skin of oil. When your skin is left dry from stipping off too much oil, it ends up producing even more oil to make up for the loss. An olive oil cleanser could help maintain the balance of your skin. Just apply the oil all over your face, and leave on for a couple of minutes. Then, rinse off the oil with water, or gently wipe it off your face with a washcloth dipped in warm water. Make sure to get all of the oil out of your face.
