18 Dangerous Foods Your Dog Should Never Eat

15. Raw Meat and Fish

Theactivetimes

Raw and undercooked meat and fish often contain bacteria like E. coli and salmonella, which can be as harmful to your pets as they are to people. These bacteria can cause food poisoning, making your dog sick soon after eating. Some of the signs of food poisoning include vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, salivation, lack of appetite, whimpering and low-grade fever.

Raw fish can also have parasites such as flukes, tapeworms, and roundworms. These can make your dog sick. One type of parasite in particular called Nanophyetus salmincola can cause even more serious problems. This parasite, which is sometimes found in salmon and other anadromous fish, can be harmful if it is infected with a microorganism that causes salmon poisoning disease. This disease is potentially fatal, so it is best to just avoid feeding your dog raw fish.
