10. Duration of Food Poisoning
Unlike stomach flu, food poisoning does not typically last long. Just like in stomach flu though, there is no uniform duration for signs and symptoms in food poisoning. Different bacteria have different durations. Signs and symptoms usually clear up within hours to a couple of days. There are times when an infected person will just pass stool or vomit once, and that would be the end of their signs and symptoms. Such a case is not rare at all.
