18 Different Foods That Cause Cancer

4. Farmed Salmon

North Coast Seafoods

Salmon is a staple for many people, but in the US up to 60% of the salmon available on the market is farmed rather than fished. This means that the fish are fed unnatural diets that have chemicals, antibiotics, pesticides, and other known carcinogens that are also found in asbestos. On average, farmed salmon has sixteen times more toxins than those found in wild salmon. If you’re making the decision to eat healthily, make sure the food you choose is healthy as well. Ask your grocer if the fish you’re buying is farmed or fresh-caught before you buy. You can also tell if the color is exceptionally bright orange, as most farmed salmon is grey and has color added to it. Wild salmon is a deeper almost burnt sienna color and has smaller fat marbling in comparison.
