18 Different Foods That Cause Cancer

14. Artificial Sweeteners

Harvard Health

Artificial sweeteners function sort of like a honey trap. We are lured in by the tantalizing sweetness of the benefits of reduced sugar, yet we can find ourselves in the mire of too much of a good thing. Artificial sweeteners are adopted by those who want to try to lose weight, people who have diabetes and need to avoid sugar, or those who are just trying to improve their diet. However, some studies suggest that that those who consume artificial sweeteners on a regular basis actually gain rather than lose weight, especially if we consume coffee sweeteners and soda. Furthermore, artificial sweeteners make it difficult to control blood sugar levels, and other such conditions. There is also evidence that the chemicals in artificial sweeteners can break down into a deadly toxin known as “DKP”. When your stomach processes this toxin, it in turn can produce chemicals that are carcinogenic and result in things like brain tumors.
