While there has not yet been any solid proof that weighted blankets can treat sleep disorders, other studies have suggested that they may provide benefits for those with sleep issues.

The 2014 study on using weighted blankets with autism showed that the children’s preference for these blankets may help with their sleep problems. Moreover, in the study on using ball blankets with ADHD, the blankets helped cut down the nighttime awakenings of the participants and reduce their sleep onset time.

Another study involved college students sleeping under weighted blankets for one semester. They reported getting better quality sleep and reduced anxiety.
