3. They exaggerate their achievements.
Because narcissists believe they are better than everyone else, they expect to be recognized as such. Whether or not they have done anything to deserve recognition, they crave to be praised and admired, and to be regarded as superior. They often exaggerate their own achievements, or might even lie about them. They would go on about how great their contributions are. And while they might boast of their own talents, narcissists tend to downplay or even devalue the accomplishments of others, especially if these people have received acknowledgement or praise.
