1. They have a grandiose sense of superiority.

Grandiosity is one of the hallmarks of narcissistic personality disorder. This isn’t any ordinary instance of vanity, but an unrealistic feeling of superiority. Narcissists truly believe that they are special, unique, and more important than everybody else. They think that they deserve special treatment, and expect such from other people. They regard almost everyone else as their inferior, with only a very few others as special as themselves. These special few are the only ones narcissists feel can understand them.
