This might sound like a joke, but it’s not. One technique to try to cure your hiccups is to pull out your tongue. First, stick out your tongue. Then, use your thumb and your index finger to gently pull your tongue out of your mouth. You could also try just sticking out your tongue. This will help stimulate the nasopharynx, which is the uppermost part of the throat, and the vagus nerve. This in turn may stifle your hiccups. You might prefer to try this method in the privacy of your own home, or away from the public.
