8. Red Dots
Unlike red eyes, red dots in the eye are actually spots or dots that are red in color on the sclera. While they may look extremely painful and alarming, it doesn’t necessarily always mean that something is very concerning. These red dots normally indicate that you have a subconjunctival hemorrhage, or that one or more tiny blood vessels popped. This can happen from an eye injury, surgery, coughing, straining, and a number of other conditions that aren’t necessarily worrisome. But there are times when popped blood vessels indicate high blood sugar, which causes the blood vessels to get blocked and swollen, popping as a result. If this is the reason why, then it may possibly lead to impaired vision or even blindness, which is why it’s crucial to seek medical help.
