Treating And Managing Multiple Sclerosis

1. Corticosteroids

MedShadow

Corticosteroids, more commonly known as steroids, are sometimes prescribed to treat episodes of relapses. These are usually prescribed only for relapses that are severe enough to disrupt your ability to function. Symptoms that these might be used for include balance problems, vision problems, and extreme weakness. Steroids help by shortening your flare-up, relieving your symptoms more quickly. They work by reducing nerve inflammation. There are different types of steroids, each with possible side effects. Consult your doctor if you feel that steroids can help your problem.
