3. Bluish Color to the Skin, Lips and Fingernails
Pneumonia is a condition that affects ones breathing and the amount of oxygen that gets distributed throughout the body. As a result, many patients suffer from blue skin or blue lips, known as cyanosis, and even blue fingernails. Pneumonia is often associated with difficulty breathing or shortness of breath since the normal amounts of oxygen that should be distributed in the body are found to be lacking since the lungs are not functioning in the way they should. Although it’s not always a serious condition, there are times when signs of cyanosis can be extremely worrisome, especially in children.
