29 Home Remedies to Get Rid Of Cold Sores

18. Sea Salt

Appreciate Goods

Unlike regular table salt, sea salt is minimally processed, which means it still contains some minerals like iron, potassium and calcium rather than it getting stripped away. Although it’s mostly used for cooking, beverages, baths and body scrubs, it can also be used in the healing of cold sores, aiding in the healing process. Take a pinch of sea salt and place it onto the infected areas, allowing it to stick on the sore itself. Leave the salt on the sores for at least 10 minutes before washing it off with some cool water. Repeat this process around three times in a day.
