Anemia
Anemia occurs when you have a lower than normal red blood cell count and hemoglobin level. It is very commonly associated with colorectal cancer and related complications. It can also be a direct result of radiation and chemotherapy that is used to treat cancer. Iron deficiency anemia is considered an early warning sign of cancer; it affects around a billion people worldwide and can have numerous causes like menstruation, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and other things having to do with hormonal changes in the body. Research indicates that more than thirty percent of people with cancer will be anemic at the time of diagnosis, and about two-thirds of all cancer patients report anemia after treatment begins.
