Tenesmus
Tenesmus is marked by pain or cramping in your rectal area that makes you feel like you need to go to the bathroom, but you don’t actually have to. It also makes you strain harder to produce only a small amount of stool during your actual bowel movements. Tenesmus can be a sign of blockage due to a cancerous tumor if you are suffering from colorectal cancer. Consult your doctor if you have any difficulty expelling waste and be sure to describe what you are feeling when you pass stool.
