A symptom of UTI that occurs in women is pelvic pain. Pelvic pain may be caused by a number of things, but it may be a result of a urinary tract infection if you notice other UTI symptoms. This pain can be felt below the belly button, in the lower area of the abdomen. If you are a woman experiencing pelvic pain, watch out for other symptoms such as painful urination, a frequent need to urinate, nausea, fever, or pain in the flanks. If you have any combination of these, it would be best to see your doctor to find out if you have UTI.
