12 Signs That You May Be Suffering From A Brain Tumor

2. Seizures

Insider

A seizure may be the first sign of a brain tumor that arises. It is caused by an interference in the electric signals when the tumor pushes on nerve cells in the brain. However, seizures can occur at any stage of the illness. It is a common symptom that affects around 50 percent of people with brain tumors.

If you get seizures due to a brain tumor, the onset may come on suddenly. You may experience loss of consciousness, loss of body tone with twitching and relaxing muscle contractions, loss of control of your bodily functions, or brief periods without breathing (around 30 seconds) which may cause your skin to turn bluish. An episode may last for a short duration of about two to three minutes. It may leave you feeling confused or sleepy, give you a headache or sore muscles, or make you briefly feel weak or numb.

Seizures may be caused by other problems, however, so it is advisable to consult with your doctor immediately if you start getting them, especially if you have no prior history. Neurological problems, brain diseases, and withdrawal from drugs are other possible causes of seizures.
