12 Signs That You May Be Suffering From A Brain Tumor

12. Focal Symptoms

Stroke

Some symptoms of brain tumors affect a specific area of the brain. These are called focal or localized symptoms. Because they are specific to a certain area, they can often help in identifying the location of the tumor.

Examples of focal symptoms and where the tumor may be located include the following:

– hearing problems such as hearing loss or ringing or buzzing sounds (located in or around the temporal lobe or near cranial nerves),
– numbness, tingly, or decreased sensation (near the base of the brain)
– difficulty with walking or movement (frontal lobe or cerebellum)
– speech, reading, or writing problems (temporal lobe, parietal lobe, or certain parts of the cerebrum or cerebellum)
– balance problems (near the base of the brain)
– double vision or other vision problems (pituitary gland, optic nerve, occipital lobe or temporal lobe)
– swallowing problems (cerebellum or in or near cranial nerves)

Other focal symptoms may include decreased muscle control, clumsiness or lack of coordination, weakness, and paralysis.
