Symptoms of Lewy Body Dementia

Parkinsonism

Parkinsons Disease

While not everyone with LBD may experience significant movement problems for several years, some of those with the disease may have them early on. At the onset, movement symptoms, such as a change in handwriting, may be very mild and quite easily overlooked. However, similar to Parkinson’s Disease, LBD can also cause muscle rigidity or stiffness, a shuffling gait, tremors or shaking while at rest, balance problems and repeated falls, a stooped posture, loss of coordination, smaller handwriting than usual, reduced facial expression, difficulty swallowing, and a weaker voice.
