Symptoms of Lewy Body Dementia

Delusions

Calm Clinic

A person with dementia may become suspicious of the people around them, even going so far as to accuse them of theft, infidelity, or other improper and hurtful behavior. While these accusations are painful to receive, people who are caring for those with dementia are cautioned to remember that the disease is causing these behaviors to happen in their loved ones. Delusions are firmly held beliefs in things that are not real. Confusion and memory loss can contribute to these untrue beliefs. It is not the same thing as a hallucination, as there is no sensory element to this belief.
