Even though having the flu may keep you in bed for an extended period of time, your body may still become prone to aches and pains. However, these muscle aches are different from the type caused by intense workouts. In the case of a flu, the pain is caused by the immune system sending white blood cells to fight the infection, which results in inflammation. It may manifest in various parts of the body, most commonly in the head, back, and legs. This type of body ache typically goes away on its own as you start to recover from the virus. However, if this or other symptoms go on for more than two weeks, it would be best to consult your doctor to check if you might be suffering from something more serious.
