There’s More To Bee Products Than Honey, And Finding Out They’re Medicinal Value Is Worth Your Time

Nimed Health

Bee products have long been on the market as some of the best and most organic types of produce you can find. And a number of them are even used for medicinal treatments, and considered quite beneficial at that.

Although most people know how valuable honey is, they are normally only familiar with the common variations of household honey sold on shelves in the grocery store. Yet there are quite a number of different products that come from bees that aren’t honey, such as bee pollen, bee wax, royal jelly, mead, and propolis that are just as wondrous as the golden liquid that you buy from your corner supermarket.

In fact, bee products are not only used as sweeteners, but they have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and antioxidant properties, as well as being rich in nutrients and having a calmative effect. Certain bee products are also used to treat a number of other ailments including microbial infections and even for treatment of auto-immune disfunction.

In the podcast that is shared here, the guest speaker is the founder of Beekeeper’s Naturals, Carly Stein. She shares her personal experiences and how she eventually moved from Wall Street to taking care of bee hives in her very own backyard. Here, she talks about the details of her business, the therapeutics behind all of her many bee produce like her propolis and honey, as well as the fact that she offers a scientifically-oriented guide for customers that prefer holistic medicines. She also talks about why it’s so important for people to continue to buy local and how it helps to keep the bees in the ecosystem flourishing.

The host of the podcast, Chris Kresser, M.S., L.Ac, is considered to be at the forefront of functional medicine. He is also a globally recognized leader in a number of different fields such as Paleo nutrition, ancestral health, and integrative medicine. He also happens to be the co-director of California Center for Functional Medicine and is even a New York Times best-selling author of book The Paleo Cure.

The title of the podcast is called Revolution Health Radio, where Kresser invites a number of different guests whom he questions about a variety of topics. One of his favorite things to do is debunk common medical myths. He also enjoys inviting guests quite often so they can speak about their profession and expertise, including Carly Stein and her incredible honey bee products.
