With the trend of health going towards the natural and organic, what could be a better way to keeping and looking young than to use mother nature’s own produce? Wouldn’t you like to find out how to erase sun spots, relieve sunburn and even tighten your skin, all with the earth’s own homegrown gems?

These summer fruits are so effective, you’ll be feeling younger and more beautiful in a jiffy! Here are some spa-inspired recipes that you can do from the comforts of your very own home.

1. Use Pineapple to Help Age Spots Fade

Pineapples not only taste good, they are chockfull of nutrients and vitamins that will benefit you whether you’re eating them or using them on your skin. According to one aesthetician from the Just Ageless med spa in New York City, Ali Tobia, “Pineapple’s brightening vitamin C and exfoliating enzymes work together to break down discoloration.” Use some sour cream with it since it’s a lactic acid, which can be used to help with dead and discolored skin.

Here’s how to use it: Take ¼ cup of pineapple chunks and add in 1 tablespoon of sour cream and mix it together. Rub them onto any spots on the face or chest and leave it on for at least 5 minutes before rinsing it off.

2. Use Watermelon to Soothe Sunburn

Watermelon is not only tasty, but it helps soothe sunburn too! Since this juicy fruit contains the antioxidant lycopene, it helps lessen any swelling and inflammation that can come with sunburn. And what makes it even more effective is that lycopene also aids in protecting the skin from harmful UV rays while helping repair the skin to speed up the skin’s healing.

Here’s how to use it: Take 1 and ½ cups of watermelon and puree it. Then take a washcloth and soak up as much of the juice onto the cloth as possible. Put it on the affected area and leave for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off.

3. Use Cantaloupe to Help Smoothen Skin

Cantaloupe is jam-packed with Vitamin A, which aids in increasing collagen production that helps tighten loose creases of the skin. By adding some yogurt – whose creamy fats are known to help hydrate as well – it will firm up the skin quickly and easily.

Here’s how to use it: Take ½ cup of pureed cantaloupe and add in 1 cup of plain yogurt. Mix it all together and rub it on the creased areas of skin for at least 10 minutes before rinsing it off.

4. Use Bananas to Soften Rough Heels

Bananas have a number of amazing nutrients, including potassium, Vitamin C and Vitamin E. But it’s truly the Vitamin E and this particular fruit’s moisturizing properties that aids in skin repair. Add in some humectant honey and your feet will be feeling softer in no time!

Here’s how to use it: Take 1 banana and mash it up then add at least two tablespoons of honey to it. Rub the mixture all over your feet and heels for at least 15 minutes before rinsing it off.

5. Use Coconut to Erase Cellulite

Many people don’t know just how beneficial coconuts are, both with the flesh inside and the juice that fills the inside. Coconut juice is a very rich source of fatty acids that not only deeply hydrate the skin, but are said to “fill in” those cellulite-formed dimples.

Here’s how to use it: Pour out the coconut juice and add some exfoliating sea salt and moisturizing Aloe Vera to the mix and rub it over any cellulite you notice. Leave it on for a longer period of time to get all the skin-smoothing benefits you can get.

Remember, these aren’t the only fruits that are incredibly beneficial to your skin and overall energy levels. Add some grapefruit, avocado, blueberries, mangoes, lemons and pomegranate to your diet and see how much healthier you’ll begin to look and feel.
