Reasons Why Your Foot Hurts

The Foot

Wuwm

For the average person, the foot is expectedly the body part subjected to the most load, wear, and tear. For starters, the foot bears the entire body weight when a person is standing up. When a person walks, the foot not only bears the weight, it also gets subjected to constant transferring of the load. The constantly changing load and the effort to keep balance further stress the foot and taxes the many joints in its structure. When the person walks with an extra load, like a backpack or duffle bag, the weights of these loads add to the weight of the body, which further add to the weight that the foot is required to bear. When running or jumping, in addition to the load and changing balance that the foot has to bear, you add impact to the forces that constantly beat on the foot. It is therefore not surprising that the foot often experiences pain. Some pains are short term or instantaneous, some linger for a few days, and some are chronic. Some pains are caused by acute injuries, and some result from repetitive strain.
