Swelling
Healthy kidneys work hard to remove the extra fluid and salt in your body. Failing or diseased kidneys have a hard time removing these from your blood, which eventually causes swelling in your legs, ankles, feet, face, or hands. If you notice this and report to your doctor, you will probably be put on “diuretics”, which are pills that make you urinate more frequently to promote water and salt excretion from your body.
