Facial expression loss affects people with Parkinson’s disease on both sides of the face. Furthermore, their eye movement is restricted, as if they were wearing a mask. The “mask face” is the common name for this condition. One of the most common signs of Parkinson’s disease is motion retardation. When face symptoms emerge, movement in facial expressions is greatly limited, along with small tendon group tremor symptoms. When people with Parkinson’s disease try to smile or make other facial emotions, their facial muscles move slowly and frequently display exaggerated expressions.
