According to the American Migraine Foundation, about 75% of all Americans experience tension-type headaches (TTHs). A TTH is when you feel the sensation of a tight band or vice gripping your head, and the pain ranges from mild to moderate. A dull, aching TTH emanating from the side of the head, face, or jaw may indicate an ear infection. Along with a headache, ear-related problems usually cause pain, dizziness, muffled hearing, tinnitus, problems with vision, and fluid discharge.
