Café de Olla
Brewed coffee is a drink popular in almost all cultures across the globe. Most countries have their signature version of this age-old drink (no, Starbucks probably does not count as signature American). In Mexico, there is the “Café de Olla”.
Café de Olla, contextually translated to “coffee in a pot”, is coffee that is brewed in a clay pot called an “olla”, hence the name. The Mexicans add unrefined cane sugar and cinnamon, which give it its distinct flavor and aroma.
