Protein From Plants

Medical News Today

Plants, except the mentioned soy, quinoa, and amaranth, will lack one or more essential amino acids, which is why they are referred to as “incomplete” proteins. To get all your essential amino acids from plants, you will have to consume a varied combination of plant protein sources.

Actually, vegetables are generally not the richest source of proteins. While there are some plants which contain higher concentrations of protein than other plants, most plants’ protein-to-volume ratio would usually still be lower than meat sources.

Even then, adding plants to one’s diet is important because they do pack other nutrients that the body also needs. Furthermore, there are some people who, for one reason or another, do not or cannot eat meat, and yet their bodies will still be needing protein. Because of these reasons, it is important to know which plants are your best sources of protein.
