Good Food For Protein

Protein Drinks and Protein Bars

Did You Know Homes

Protein drinks and protein bars are so readily available in the market. They are food supplements, not food replacements. As such, they should not take the place of getting your protein requirements from real food. Unfortunately, some of these protein drinks and bars are being marketed as “Meal Replacement” drinks and bars, and so some people depend on them instead of a real meal as sources for nutrition. You would be hard-pressed to find a doctor who recommends protein drinks and bars as meal replacements, because the science still points to actual food as the best source of your body’s protein needs (as well as the body’s other nutrient and mineral needs).

As long as you are still eating real food, protein drinks should be alright to add to your diet, but just as a supplement. Bodybuilders and some athletes consume a lot of protein drinks because of their body’s requirements for more muscles and stronger bones. However, if you are not a bodybuilder or athlete, you might want to stick to food as your protein source. In fact, you would best know that even in bodybuilding, some actually shun protein shakes in favor of going “all natural” in their diet, and still they get big.
