Four Ways to Help Lower Blood Pressure Quickly

Blood pressure is important when it comes to living a healthy life, and the average blood pressure for most adults should sit at 120/80. In order to lessen any risk of having a stroke, a heart attack or another form of heart disease, it should remain below the average as well. But with everything going on in the world these days, people find themselves dealing with higher blood pressure, which at times refuses to go down due to all the stress.

Thankfully, there are ways to help keep the heart on the right track by lowering blood pressure quickly, even on the most nerve-racking days. If you deal with high blood pressure, why not try one of these four natural methods found below.

Commune with Nature

At least 20 studies show that spending around 15 minutes in your backyard could do a world of wonder on your blood pressure. Simply heading outside to get a breath of fresh air, watching the birds, squirrels and other types of animals frolicking about can lessen up to 7 points from your blood pressure in as little as 24 hours. One study in particular that was co-authored by Dr. Ken Hayashi, Ph.D., explains that “feeling close to nature calms the adrenal glands,” which then works to help reduce the production of stress hormones and in effect, lower one’s blood pressure.

Take Sesame Oil

Another organic method that can help decrease high blood pressure is taking sesame oil. By simply adding around two tablespoons of sesame oil to your everyday diet, as a replacement for other non-healthy fats, this can help lessen your blood pressure by an astonishing 32 points. According to some researchers from the University of Arkansas, this could even have you dropping at least 12 pounds in just a span of three months! This is due to the sesamin, or the “rare metabolism-boosting compound” found in sesame oil, that helps relax blood vessels regardless of how much stress you may be under.

Say No to Soda

Simply saying no to soda can make a huge difference when it comes to high blood pressure. Many don’t realize this, but soda contains a ton of sodium and sugar, which causes individuals to gain excess weight, which then raises blood pressure and puts the heart at risk.  According to studies done by Harvard, by choosing to skip at least two sodas for sugar-free iced tea instead, whether green, black, white or oolong, a person’s blood pressure can go down by a staggering 20 points. Tea is known to have polyphenols, a compound that helps relax the arteries and reduce the risk of heart disease. To get the maximum effect of this compound, try dunking your tea bag at least 10 times to release the optimum amount of polyphenols into your drink!

Take A Natural Relaxer

Researchers from the University of Colorado found that taking at least 100 milligrams of CoQ10 is one way to naturally relax the arteries. This compound can actually bring one’s blood pressure down at least 17 points, despite any ongoing stress they might be dealing with at the moment. According to Dr. Travis Stork, who authored the book The Doctor’s Diet, “For best results, choose ubiquinol – a form of CoQ10 that’s three times better absorbed than older formulations.” Of course, like with any other supplement, patients should always consult with a doctor before taking any extra vitamins depending on their personal medical case.
