The beta-glucan soluble fiber, which is found in oats, are proven to help control blood glucose levels, as well as low-density lipoprotein or LDL (the bad cholesterol).

There are many ways to prepare and eat oats. Most kids across the globe are familiar with oats having been cooked to a porridge-like consistency and being topped with berries or nuts. A lot of baked products also contain oats. Oats are actually also eaten raw. In their raw state, oats may for a good addition to salads, yogurts, and trail mixes.

Be mindful to eat your oats without much sugar added. In fact, eat it with no sugar added if possible. Eating oats with so much sugar defeats the purpose or cancels out some of what would have been the health benefits from this fiber-rich food source.
