COVID-19 Signs and Symptoms

14.  Inexplicable Loss of Taste or Smell

ABC

COVID-19 has been correlated to the inexplicable loss of taste or smell.  While this particular symptom cannot yet be explained, it is observable.  Its occurrence is not rampant, but it has been observed to be consistent in a substantial portion of the confirmed COVID-19 cases.  The World Health Organization lists this symptom as a less common, but still occurring, symptom of COVID-19.

A loss of taste or smell is a symptom that occurs in several other diseases, and as mentioned earlier, this symptom is not always present in COVID-19.  Thus, losing your sense of taste or smell will not necessarily mean one is infected with SARS-CoV-2, but it is indicative that something is amiss.  A consultation with a Medical Doctor would be in order.
