When to Seek Emergency Care

The conditions that cause vertigo are rarely serious or life-threatening. However, in some cases of vertigo, you might need to seek immediate medical attention. You should see your doctor right away or get emergency care if your dizzy spells are accompanied by any of the following:
– Slurring or difficulty speaking
– Loss of hearing
– Double vision
– Loss of consciousness
– Weakness in the limbs
– Loss of coordination
– Difficulty waking
– Numbness or tingling sensations
– Continuous vomiting or being unable to keep your food down
– A very severe or different kind of headache
– Fever
