Symptoms of Vertigo

Vertigo is usually triggered by changes in the position of your head. Even the smallest movements of your head, eyes or body can make your symptoms worse. Vertigo typically makes you feel like you are spinning, tilting, swaying, unbalanced, or being pulled in one direction.
A vertigo attack may be accompanied by sudden feelings of nausea as well as vomiting and heavy sweating. You may also experience repetitive and uncontrolled jerking eye movements called nystagmus. You might suffer from a headache, a ringing in your ears, or even loss of hearing.
