16. Appendicitis
Appendicitis is a disorder that causes the appendix to swell, become inflamed, and fill with pus. The appendix is a little finger-shaped organ attached to the big intestine on the right side of the abdomen. The appendix is a tiny structure that connects the small intestine to the large intestine. Its exact function is unknown, and it is possible to live without one. Appendicitis is typically caused by a blockage within the appendix, which causes blood flow issues, inflammation, infection, and pressure. The appendix might rupture if not treated. Appendicitis can occur at any age, but it is most frequent in persons in their twenties and thirties.
