15. Bladder Infections
An inflammation of the bladder wall is referred to as cystitis. It is a form of urinary tract infection that is rather prevalent (UTI). It can go away on its own, but if a person has cystitis on a frequent basis or develops symptoms of a kidney infection, they should seek medical attention. Although cystitis is rarely fatal, it can be painful and lead to problems if left untreated. According to a 2021 article, cystitis is an infection of the bladder, which is part of the lower urinary system. Cystitis is caused when germs that normally dwell on the skin or in the intestine enter the urethra and bladder. The bacterium then adheres to the bladder lining, causing it to become irritating and inflamed. This is referred to as a bladder infection. Cystitis can afflict people of any gender or age. However, it is more frequent among women. Females, for example, have a shorter urethra that is closer to the anus. This makes bacteria more likely to enter the bladder.
