14 Signs Of A Gallbladder Attack

6. Pain between the Shoulderblades

Express

Cholecystitis can be acute or chronic. Acute cholecystitis produces intense discomfort in the mid or upper abdomen. Pain may also occur between the shoulder blades. The gallbladder may rip or burst in extreme instances, releasing bile into the belly and causing considerable discomfort.

The gallbladder gets bloated and inflamed when the drainage conduit for the bile stored in the gallbladder (called the cystic duct) becomes obstructed, generally by a gallstone. Cholecystitis is the effect of this. The cystic duct empties into the common bile duct, which then transports bile to the small intestine. A gallstone can also become lodged in the bile duct. Choledocholithiasis necessitates a technique to remove or bypass the obstruction.
