8. No Using Contacts
Aside from not using makeup when you have a stye, another recommendation is to not use contacts either. That’s because since contact lenses are placed directly on the eyeball, dirt, residue and worse, bacteria that comes from the stye will be transferred to the contact lens as well, further spreading the infection. While contact lenses don’t cause styes, they can become hindrances when someone has a stye and still uses them during that time period. It is also recommended to change the contact lenses you were using when the stye occurred to a new pair in case they were contaminated during that time.
